Beatle bass bridge fit :: Hofner-style violin bass kit [5.2 lbs]

This is a violin bass kit that was a made by a woodworking grandfather as a gift to his granddaughter.  It just needed the bridge foot fit a little better, along with straightening the neck and adjusting the nut slots to make it much more playable.  Look at that flame maple top!  This thing is fun!

Check out the video of the bridge fit on yesterday's vlog.

Jonathon of Tigerman WOAH dropped by to have his SG checked out for an upcoming run down to Nashville, TN.  Those who have been following the shop for some time will recognize this well-played workhorse.  It's been in for a broken control cavity, broken headstock, broken strap button screws, etc.  This time it was in for a high fret.  Check out the vlog to see the problem fret addressed.

Harp guitar pickup install :: 2015 Carruth Harp Guitar "Thumbelina" [6.4 lbs]

Ken Bonfield stopped by the shop last night to have a K&K pickup installed in his new Alan Carruth harp guitar.  This is an incredible instrument.  The neck and upper harp are both detachable from the main body and fold into a small custom case for travel.

Video was shot of this pickup installation along with some minor neck angle tweaks and featured on the vlog.

TonePros bridge swap :: 2013 Gibson ES-335 TDC [7.8 lbs]

The player of this 335 found that the stock nylon saddles were not yielding the tone he was looking for.  For a quick experiment, I pulled the TonePros bridge on my 1986 Howard Roberts Fusion and installed it on his 335.  He liked the results of the metal saddles better so we decided to swap out the stock bridge.  I ended up lightly distressing the new bridge to match the existing hardware.  The new bridge was laid out, notched and set up in the vlog video below.
