Dot neck turns block :: 1982 Gibson SG R1
A rare Gibson SG R1 in for new frets, but not before converting the dot fingerboard inlays to blocks. These block inlays were deceivingly difficult to position. If they are off just a little bit they look odd big time. The blocks will be flushed up with the board before a custom script inlay goes in the twelfth fret. Below is a quick video on inlaying the blocks.
Top cracks & bridge reset :: 2003 Taylor 214 [4.2 lbs]
The bridge was coming up so it was removed. While the bridge was off, two top cracks that ran from the outer E string holes to the tail were repaired. Finally the bridge was refit, glued and clamped in place with hot hide glue.

The failing bridge was removed first, then some top cracks cleated that ran from both E strings to the tail before reinstalling the bridge.

Bridge re-glue, center seam & sound hole crack :: 1996 Martin HD-28 [4.9 lbs]
A player is taking his Martin along with him for an extended time down to Grenada (island in the Caribbean), so he stopped by for a check-up beforehand. The bridge was coming up so it was removed, cleaned up and re-glued. An existing top crack repair was coming apart so I removed a single cleat, glued up the crack and splinted it (fit a sliver of wood into the crack). Lastly a sound hole crack was reinforced. All ready for the island!

Cleating a top crack with TJ Thompson's Crack Corrector jig. Works great, really dig it. I'll repeat this setup for a bookmatched crack on the treble side.
