Bridge radius matches fingerboard :: Melita Syncro-Sonic Bridge on a 1967 Guild Starfire IV
The bridge had smaller radius than the fingerboard, so the middle strings were higher off of the frets than the outer strings. Correcting this involved filing the middle four string saddles to lower them enough to fall in line with the fingerboard's arch.
No cover gets a cover :: 1992 Gibson Les Paul
Here I'm installing a gold pickup cover on a previously uncovered 1992 Gibson Les Paul neck pickup. This cover will cosmetically match another bridge pickup that the player wants to install himself when he gets the guitar back from a headstock break repair and other upgrades.
Weird control cavity crack :: 1992 Gibson Les Paul.
This is an odd crack I found when removing a control cover on a Les Paul in for a broken headstock. I had thought the screw was just stripped out but with the cover off the real issue was obvious. Glue and clamp.
Sunset fingerboard sand :: 1967 Guild Starfire IV
Being able to steer this neck jig into the sunset and back light the fingerboard sand is just ridiculous. It makes checking the radius really accurate - incredibly lucky to have this much natural light in the shop.
Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin P90 Cognac Burst SF [5.2 lbs] :: Dog ear P90 pickup adjust & setup
I'm a huge fan of hollowbodies and P90's. This Kingpin came in with high action which was easy to correct via the truss rod and archtop bridge. The non-adjustable bridge pickup riser was too high though, so much that the lowered strings were touching the pickup. I removed the dog ear pickup mount and removed about 3/32" from the bottom and refit it to the top. The trick is to not take too much off or the bridge pickup will not balance well with the neck pickup.
