This owner-assembled and painted Fender Telecaster was in the neck jig yesterday for a fret level and dress. The Gibson humbucker in the neck sounds great with the maple fingerboard and 25.5" scale length (vs. 24 5/8" on Les Pauls).
The frets were leveled and dressed in the neck jig. Also the disconnected pickup jack was removed and replaced with StewMac's "NoJak" endpin.
I really dig the comfort of this body shape and size.
Fender Tele partscaster in the neck jig for a level, crown and polish. It's a fretwork kind of day.
1966 Gibson B-25 Natural in the neck jig for a fret level, crown and polish. There were some high frets that were interfering with capo-playing on the 4th and 5th fret.
Kentucky KM-150 mandolin [2.0 lbs] :: bridge foot fit and setup.
The bridge foot was better fit to the top to improve volume, tone and overall string transfer efficiency to the body. The top of the bridge had sagged slightly where the middle strings were lower than the outer strings with respect to the fingerboard. The outer string course bridge notches were filed to correct for this. A few high frets were reseated, the nut slots adjusted and restrung with Ernie Ball 80/20 bronze alloy light strings.
