EDIT: blog post here.

Phred Wolph [7.9 lbs] :: bad effects loop switch

Phred Wolph [7.9 lbs] :: bad effects loop switch.

This is a copy based on "The Wolf" guitar built by Doug Irwin for Jerry Garcia in 1973.  It has an onboard effects loop that allows you to send your signal out to your pedal board and then back to the guitar.  The toggle switch that turns this loop on / off became intermittent so it was replaced with a new Carling DPDT.

Mitchell MD-100CE [4.9 lbs] :: setup

Mitchell MD-100CE [4.9 lbs] :: setup

A phenomenal player stopped by the shop one night last week with this dreadnought acoustic that was given to him.  He needed an inexpensive acoustic to get him through a couple gigs and it was in dire need of a setup.  This guitar was in pretty rough shape with high action, sharp fret ends and a few high frets that needed to be addressed.

2006 Tacoma RM6C :: bridge pin abuse

2006 Tacoma RM6C :: bridge pin abuse.

Someone did a number on these mutilated plastic bridge pins.  They look like they were pounded in with a hammer and removed with Vise-Grips.  There is no relief underneath the pin heads making string changes a chore.  Time for new bone pins.  The bridge pin holes will also be properly countersunk to ease in future removal.
