<Sigh> just what I thought - someone glued this neck pickup volume knob to the shaft on this '60s Trini (actually, all knobs were glued). Tried heating the knob to release the glue but the glue bond trumped the shaft-to-pot connection. Bummer. Oh well, it's going to be replaced along with the bridge volume pot (volume drops off around 8) with Emerson Custom Pro CTS pots.
This beautiful mahogany-backed F-style mandolin came in for a full fret level, crown and polish to correct a slight rise over the fingerboard extension. The bridge has a slick wedge and set screw adjustment in each wing. These set screws allow you to vary the height of the inset acoustic guitar-style saddle with a 1/16" Allen wrench. The wedges allow for more contact area (ie string transfer to the top) versus the traditional post and thumb wheel bridge.
Caton Sollenberger, guitarist of the Boston band The Jauntee, stopped by the shop with his custom shop ES-359 to get it tweaked for their upcoming southern tour. They will be kicking off the run this Friday in Hampton, VA.

The floating bridge was out of whack and needed to be adjusted along with the action. The pickup heights were adjusted (for output balance) to account for the strong bridge humbucker.
