Custom mounting a Roland GK-2A MIDI pickup. This Yamaha Silent Guitar’s center section has a 12” radius, so a fitted mahogany platform will securely mout the output module to the body, along with 3M VHB mounting tape. The pickup will receive a similarly fitted platform as well.
1960 Gibson ES-330T :: Lollar Pickups Charlie Christian (HB size) installed, 3 way switch.
I really tried to talk the customer out of this vintage modification and suggested that he sell the guitar to buy one with a neck-position pickup. The customer said he would never sell this guitar as he has had this guitar for 12+ years and loves how it plays. He is a player that knows the sound he is going after, so we decided to go with a Lollar Pickups Charlie Christian (humbucker size) neck pickup and a 3-way switch. Also note the customer had previously replaced the tuners and tailpiece.
