Tweak While You Wait :: 1989 Sadowsky Jazz Bass [8.8 lbs]
This lovely Sadowsky J bass has been in the shop before, notably for a neck re-carve and set up for flats. Recently this player decided to switch back to rounds, so we made some quick tweaks to the setup. Super low action!
Neck Glue-up :: Chubbuck Kalliope 001
Finally getting some build time mixed in with my crazy repair schedule. I can't wait to get this new model strung up along with Rogue 005. Next up will be bridges. Man, I love building guitars and hope to figure out a better compromise of builds to repairs in my work flow.
Guitar homecoming! :: 2011 Chubbuck Rogue 004 [4.5 lbs]
Wow, it's super cool to have one of my guitars back in the shop! I love seeing how they hold up in the real world. This came in for a bridge re-glue and I ended up repairing a small hairline crack in the back as well. I love how it's voice has opened up and the finish is wearing very nicely. Signs of wear are always good as it shows the guitar is being played. This will be heading back to it's home down in the sweet sunny south.

Setting a cleat with a guitar string :: 1969 Guild Mark III
Now that the neck and bridge are reset, I'm moving onto a hairline side crack. Here I'm using an unwound guitar string along with a cleat pulling jig to both align the crack and set a reinforcement cleat inside. Note that the string's ball end is clipped off and retied to avoid the windings as we want to keep the hole through the side as small as possible (0.008" in this case).
Next up will be to touch up the finish around this crack, make a new saddle and install an Anthem LR Baggs pickup.
Hipshot B-Bender :: 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Tele [8.8 lbs]
Here's a Tele with an aftermarket Hipshot string bender previously installed in for a setup. I increased the neck angle and notched the saddles to help keep the string spacing consistent at the bridge. As for the string bender, there is 6th string drop (set for a whole step down E - D), 3rd string hand lever (set to raise a whole step G - A) and a hip-activated lever on the 2nd string (set for a whole step up B - C#).
With some practice this thing is a lot of fun. I'll post a video of me fumbling around with this guy over on the blog soon.
