1985 Philip Kubicki X Factor [8.6 lbs] :: setup

A wild Kubicki bass in for a setup.  A few high frets up the neck needed to be tapped back down and the output jack rewired to improve the connections.

How about this bridge?  It's not the best for fine tuning the action as you can olnly rotate the saddles in 180° increments.  But the "water wheel" tuners are pretty unique.  I always have to think a little harder when the tuners aren't up on the headstock.

Oh and check out the built in drop D capo!  #slickness

Hipshot B-Bender :: 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Tele [8.8 lbs]

Hipshot B-Bender :: 1996 Fender 50th Anniversary Tele [8.8 lbs]

Here's a Tele with an aftermarket Hipshot string bender previously installed in for a setup.  I increased the neck angle and notched the saddles to help keep the string spacing consistent at the bridge.  As for the string bender, there is 6th string drop (set for a whole step down E - D), 3rd string hand lever (set to raise a whole step G - A) and a hip-activated lever on the 2nd string (set for a whole step up B - C#).

With some practice this thing is a lot of fun.  I'll post a video of me fumbling around with this guy over on the blog soon.

2007 Gibson Les Paul Studio [7.5 lbs] :: replace tuners & drop D setup

2007 Gibson Les Paul Studio [7.5 lbs] :: replace tuners and set up for drop D.

This came into the shop absolutely filthy with only three strings on it, the G tuner bent and the D tuner shaft broken off.  I spent a good amount of time cleaning the entire guitar before replacing the tuners with a new set of gold Grover Deluxe's.  The bridge was also cleaned, lubricated and the saddle slots recut.

Note this is one of the lighter LP's to grace my bench since I picked up the scale a couple months ago.
